In this time of Samhain, when the harvest is collected, our aim is to celebrate the apple and all the wonderful food and drink that we can make from it. In particular, we want to promote the Irish apple.

Halloween is all about our Heritage and how we are doing our upmost for future generations.

Halloween was, after all, first celebrated in Meath and we are determined to continue with the tradition.

 

Experience a beautiful lantern lit canoe trip on the Boyne Canal, passing the historic Battle of the Boyne site at Oldbridge, with Celtic Adventures.

Suitable for beginners.

In this tour we met some of the ghosts of Drogheda's bloody past, visit the grave of a lady who was buried but survived, see the skeleton like cadaver stone and hear of events that shaped Drogheda's history

Pick your own pumpkin straight from Ireland's largest and best known pumpkin patch. make your way through our magical maze before picking your pumpkin from the thousands of pumpkins of lots of different varieties!

The Celts believed that Samhain was a time of transition, when the veil between our world and the next came down, and the spirits of all who had died since the last Oíche Shamhna (Night of Samhain) moved on to the next life.

Ghosts and ghouls have made their way into the kitchen and headed straight for our delicious Afternoon Tea! They have replaced our traditional treats with their own spooky fare!

 

Learn about the origins of Halloween in Irish prehistory.  This two hour event includes a discussion of pre Celtic myth and legend followed by a guided meditation on Samhain.  Limited to 20 places, tickets can be purchased in advance via Eventbrit
